Installing one usually includes the following instructions in the kit. But, regardless of what type of cock you plan to add to your roof, the installation part is similar. Weathervanes should be added to the peak of your roof, also known as the ridge pole, and must have some support from below. Mounting hardware supplied for installation, but also other elements necessary for installation, including drilling, additional roofing shingles and caulk, and various nails and a hammer.
First, before the addition of a weather vane, to find the point where it must be installed. This includes the search for high peak. The ridge pole should be located in this place, and the wind vane will slide inside. After the diameter of the spire – the pole at the bottom of the weather vane – is measured, drill hole depth and diameter of the spire on the roof at the ridge pole. But, before adding a yo-yo, make sure that specific location has the support from below. The metal brackets that accompany the vane mounting kit should be installed here, to strengthen the force of this place.
